Sketches of Spain
The shape of sunlight, the colour of water…
I first visited Madrid in 2016 - it was late in the year, a business trip, and the weather was cool - though milder than Toronto!
I stayed on for a couple of days, after the work was done, exploring the city on foot and taking photographs.
Already I had fallen in love - with the food, the street life, the art and the architecture, the history, the people, and I knew I would have to come back.
And I did - two years later my wife and I traveled in late summer through Andalucia - Sevilla, Ronda and the pueblos blancos, Granada, Cordoba, and then back to Madrid again.
These photographs, and many others that I took, have lingered in my imagination ever since.
